San Bernardino County New Home Information

San Bernardino County is the largest county in the United States by area, and is larger than each of the nine smallest states. Located in the southeast of the state, the deserts and mountains of this vast county stretch from the outskirts of the densely populated Riverside-San Bernardino Area to the Nevada border and the Colorado River. San Bernardino County is considered to be part of the Inland Empire region and is the only county in California bordered by both Arizona and Nevada.

The Mojave National Preserve covers some of San Bernardino's eastern desert, especially between Interstate 15 and Interstate 40. The desert portion also includes the cities of Needles next to the Colorado River, and Barstow at the junction in Interstate 15 and Interstate 40. Death Valley's famous national park has a small portion of land within the county. The largest metropolitan area in the Mojave Desert part of San Bernardino County is the Victor Valley with new home neighborhoods in the incorporated localities of Apple Valley, Victorville, Adelanto, and Hesperia. Further south, a portion of Joshua Tree National Park overlaps San Bernardino County near Twentynine Palms. Additional places near and west of Twentynine palms include Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Morongo Valley.

The mountains are home to the San Bernardino National Forest, and include the ski and snowboard popular communities of Crestline, Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs, Big Bear City, Forest Falls, and Big Bear Lake.

San Bernardino County neighborhoods are home to 35 school districts with 523 schools. With over 427,500 students over 55% of the students are Hispanic. Higher education opportunities include California State University, San Bernardino and University of Redlands.
